(On a very, very cold part of the North Sea coast)

To whom it may concern,

My wife and I live in Grimsby, about 2 miles from the North Sea coast, and as you imagine this area is only warm in the summertime and the low temperatures combined with the cold sea winds is freezing in the winter.

For as long as we have has central heating, we havent been able to afford to run it because the heat just soaked through the single brick walls, leacing the hosue as cold as if we never had put it on. Last winter, and previous cold winters before. we found that ice crystals had actually formed on the inside wall of the kitchen, and furthermore the inside of the fridge wall was warmer than the outer kitchen walls!

This year, we decided that unless we could do something to warm the house up we would move, something we didnt want to do because we like the area we live in. Eventually, we decided to get in touch with Wethertext, in a week the representative came to visit us, he was freindly, polite and not in the least bit pushy, and explained the benefits of external insulation. After speaking with him we agreed to give it a try, the paperwork was easy to complete and we recieved a grant towards the cost too.

We also decided to bulit an extension and a conservortary on the rear of the house, when this extra work was completed the extrensions looked just as they were meant to look, like extensions (please see the photos) and when this was completed the work began, with Wethertex. The team came to start to the work on the day we had arranged, they were on time, (as they were evcery day) and began the work immediately, the whole team was freindly, polite and very professional in their work, and no matter what we asked of them they were only too happy to oblige. They all worked at least 8 hours a day, and never wasted time, we offered them tea or coffee throughout the day, but they only accpted this, once when they began the day, once at a lunch break and once before they packed away for the day. And they certainly didnt spend any time sitting about or chatting amongst themselves. (what a pity other workmen we have used in the past didnt have the same attitude). they cleaned up any mess they made each day before they left, and always explained the situation day by day and what the plans for the next day were, leaving us well informed and understanding exactly how the insulation would work and how to take care of it.

The finished work made an amazing difference to the look of our house, as I mentioned earlier the extensions looked like extensions, but on completion of their work, they now look a part of the house and as if they had been part of the origianl building (please see photos). All of our neighbours, and many passers by have spoken to us and said how much cleaner and nicer the house looks now. A fact I certainly wouldnt argue against, because before the work, though I say it myself, the house looked dirty and uncared for, due to a build up of dirt over the years, this and the fact that the brickwork had been worn away and was flaking, thanks to the salt air from the sea (please see before and after photos). Because of the texture of the weathertex coating and its weather proof properties this will not happen again because it is easily cleaned simply by hosing it down. Aslo another serious problem was because of the worn out flaking bricks and mortar, we have for two years had the added comfort of knowing that mice would be able to pass through the mortar, and no matter how we tried, we couldnt prevent this, a problem I sincerely believe weathertext has cured by completing covering the walls and loose mortar.

Regarding the insulation value of the property, even though the winter has not yet set in, we have noticed that previous summers have turned the house into something between a greenhouse and a sauna, it has become much more pleasant to live in, and does not have the summer extremes.

On the few cold days we have had recently, we have both noticed there has been no real drop in temperature, compared to earler when in just an hour or maybe two at the most the house temperature would drop. I am more than confident that the winter will be more pleasant than ever before. And maybe this year we can even afford to run the central heating – safe in the knowledge that we are not just burning money for the sake of it, without the warmth one should expect from it, even more hopeful that maybe this year we wont have to use it either!

If this reference should sound like an advertising brochure then I make no aologies, because not only has wethertext insulated our home, it has made it more pleasant to the eye and doubtless raised the value too.

All done in a very short space of time, all done proffessionaly  all done with care and considertion, All done by a great team – and most importantly – ITS ALL DONE AND WE LOVE IT!!!

PS I will admit the price wasnt what you can call cheap – but well worth every penny – an investemnt for out present day situation and for the future value of the house.
