Kings Road Residences Get a Royal Makeover
- 22 October 2018 -
Hywel Davies of Homeshield Coating Limited recently worked on the refurbishment of Kings Road Residences in Brighton. The building started with un-painted render, before being steam-cleaned and redecorated in Wethertex’s PPS1 system. The 12-week project was completed with Pilbeam Construction, a well-known and respected contractor in Sussex.
Homeshield Coating Ltd chose Wethertex to give a weathered property a fresh new look, turning the tired and cracked render into a beautifully refurbished property. The building is stunningly located on the Brighton seafront, overlooking the pier and beach, and consequently needs a coating to protect it from the corrosive sea air. As part of the renovation of the commercial building, the property needed some adjustments to the facades resulting in the need for render repairs to blend the old and new renders, as well as some small repairs.
Homeshield Coating Ltd used the Wethertex GRC, Wethertex X71, Wethertex PPS1 Pliolite Resin Smooth Façade Coating in ‘Gardenia’, as chosen by the specifying architects, BLB, who have a history of choosing Wethertex high performance, durable renders in tough costal environments. The coatings were chosen for their impressive track record in protecting masonry and their ability to maintain their decorative appearance long term in harsh conditions.
Following the renovation of the building, both Pilbeam Construction and Homeshield are very happy with the Wethertex system and look forward to working with Wethertex products again in the future.
“Ideal for the job, the best products for the renovation of existing facades”
